Cosmic Pie’s Journey:
Cosmic Pie Pizza began its delectable journey as a pop-up pizzeria at the Castro Valley Farmers Market in 2017. The overwhelming response paved the way for expansion, and in 2020, Cosmic Pie found its home in the vibrant Santa Cruz, CA, operating four days a week at The Humble Sea Brewery. In 2021, the cosmic magic spread to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Cosmic Pie graced Betterday Coffee until 2022.
About Chris Van Dyne:
Chris has a passion for creating and maintaining responsible food systems believing how we cultivate and consume food is one of the few aspects of human environmental impact that we, as individuals, can control. After bringing a retail product to market with mixed success, Chris turned his attention to the food that he’s always loved since childhood: Pizza.

At Cosmic Pie, our commitment is to elevate pizza-making to an art form. In 2022 Cosmic Pie Pizza shifted focus when it closed its doors as a restaurant and shifted focus to online pizza content. The goal of the site is to educate readers about sourcing ingredients and teaching technique for pizza making at home while also pointing to the best places to go for a slice while you’re on the road. You’ll even find content on fun things like fermentation and sourdough, a key part of Cosmic Pie Pizza’s famous crust.
